Monday.... a glorious day here in Coolangatta

We arrived Saturday and went to the Tweed Heads Bowls club for tea and the band playing there were The Chevrolets. They are great. The place was packed but we did manage to get a few dances in. It was enjoyable just listening to the band when the dance floor was too full.

Sunday we did a bit of grocery shopping then went to the Civic Centre for a show from 2 - 5, there were 3 bands. Cool Change who where fantastic, Old 45's who were good and The Breakaways who were also good. We had payed $18 for the tickets for this show and when we arrived they gave us a $10 refund saying they had reduced the price. As the show was about to finish they announced that we could go to the evening show for free. We went over to the Bowls Club for tea and to listen to the band Dance On. It was so packed that we left after we had finished eating and went back to the Civic Centre.
The 3 bands we saw at the night show were On The Move, we only caught the last 3 of their songs and think we missed the best band for the night, they were excellent. Then there was Route 66 and Shindig who were OK. A marathon day 6 bands!!!!!

A day of rest today and a chance to catch up on washing etc.

I walked into town along the beach this morning. This was the view..

a bit hard to take...

Then my reward for the effort, a beer at the Cooly Hotel

Anyway that is it for this post, the sunshine is calling.
I have added some photos to my previous post so you might like to check them out

Till next time
Cheers
Julie
